Annie Duke Biography

In addition to being the world's best female poker player-and arguably one of the best players, irrespective of gender-Annie Duke is UltimateBet's Cardroom Consultant.

With a proven track record of not only playing the game but also knowing exactly what online poker players want to see in a tournament schedule, Annie Duke revamped UltimateBet's tournament schedule in April 2008 to offer online poker players more variety, bigger guarantees, and more of what they want. With her impressive record of victories on the felt, nobody was more suited for the job.

Annie's first WSOP* bracelet win came in 2004 after she beat out 234 players in the $2000 buy-in Omaha Hi/Lo Split event.

Not being one to rest on her laurels, Annie took a seat in the invitation-only WSOP* Tournament of Champions and knocked out eight of the world's best poker legends. Her take-home? $2 million.

Duke has 14 top ten finishes at the World Series of Poker* to her name and has cashed 34 times heading into 2008.

In addition to the respect she's gained in the world of poker, Annie is revered for her humanitarian work. In 2007, Annie Duke and Don Cheadle hosted the first Ante Up For Africa event, raising $700,000 in support of humanitarian efforts in Darfur and garnering a lot of much-needed media attention. The tournament attracted a host of A-list celebrities including Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Adam Sandler, Shannon Elizabeth, Jason Alexander, Kevin James, Cheryl Hines and Montel Williams.

Annie Duke is an accomplished writer and has appeared on numerous television shows including Deal or No Deal, The Colbert Report, and her own reality series, Best Damn Poker Show.
